What are Themed 住宅社区?

365bet中文 provides residential experiences commonly known around the country as Living Learning Communities (LLC), but as we are a part of the Blazer Nation, they are referred to as Themed 住宅社区. Residents in our communities benefit from additional resources, 支持, and enhanced activities centered around a specific focus in order to elevate their residential experience.  At the center of all of our communities is the belief that learning is an active and dynamic process that occurs both inside and outside the classroom and is a process in which students use several perspectives to learn. On-campus living spaces provide an ideal learning environment as most students spend more collective hours in their living environment than in any other location on campus, 包括教室. This community provides an opportunity for all students who are deaf, 听力, and hard of 听力 to live together in a community where they can use and practice American Sign Language in daily living. 位于霍珀大厅.

新生联谊会

This community located in GA hall focuses on creating friendships, personal and leadership development, and retention of first-year women participating in the CPC Recruitment process. 健康社区

Valdosta Sullivan学者计划

This community is an invitation-only scholarship cohort program for teacher education located in Georgia Hall. Sullivan Scholars focuses on preparing students who want to teach in rural and or Title I Georgia Schools. 

Air Force (参加后备役军官训练军团) Freshman 社区

This community prepares 参加后备役军官训练军团 cadets for their life in college and beyond. Focusing on topics likely healthy living and global citizenship, this community will prepare our Air Force cadets for life outside of Valdosta, 乔治亚州以外, 甚至在国外. 位于帕特森大厅.

Communication Science Disorders (CSD)  

The Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) 社区 aims to provide a residential learning experience for students with shared goals and a common intellectual interest in the field of communication sciences and disorders. Participants will be 支持ed by the faculty, staff, and students from the CSD Department. Multiple interactive opportunities will be provided throughout students’ matriculation through the CSD program. Students from all undergraduate classification levels are invited to participate.

The 文化感受 community is an immersive living space for international and domestic students to come together and promote international education and cross-cultural understanding.  作为这个社区的一部分, students will have the opportunity to meet and learn from native speakers from different countries around the world, participate in programming and events that foster relationships among students of all different backgrounds, and broaden cultural awareness for residents on the floor and within the building.

The 研究密集型 社区 provides a living space for students who are looking for a fun and lively place to live while still fostering an environment with a greater focus on academics.  This community brings students together who share a commitment to maintain an environment that places a high value on academic excellence.  Adjusted quiet hours are set in place to provide an atmosphere conducive to studying and sleeping.  Residents within this community will work with 住房和居住生活 staff to create an atmosphere of respect, 礼貌, and consideration in maintaining set study-intensive standards.
